2023 Pierre-Olivier Garcia Bourgogne Aligote ‘Grand Chaliot’, Burgundy, France

From old golden Aligot vines just south of Nuits-Saint-Georges, Grand Chaliot is rooted in the regions signature brown clay and scattered chailles small, sharp limestone fragments. At 60 years old, the vines yield a wine thats textural yet Aligote from the soils of Premeaux which are harder, more compact types of limestone (sometimes called chailles) that are often used in building stone. In vineyards, they translate to well-drained, mineral-rich soils.
