Merryvale 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon

Merryvale Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa Valley is rich and dark in the glass with aromas of coffee and blackberry. Classically styled, medium- to full-bodied with notes of cassis and toast, the finish features supple, velvety tannins that will gain even more complexity as time passes. Tasting Notes

2016 was a great year for classic wine lovers with a very even growing season and a fairly late harvest. Cabernet Sauvignon ripened slowly and gave us wines with soft tannins, delicate flavors and great balance. These wines will continue to develop and show a lot of complexity and secondary flavors as they age. The wine opens with abundant dark fruit on the nose such as plum, blackberry and cherries, with a touch of leather and graphite. On the mouth it starts with lively acidity that brings a freshness to the wine, then it evolves on soft tannins and a very velvety texturealready showing great! There is a lot of tension and drinkability with this wine at release so it can be enjoyed immediately. This wine sets the standard for high quality Napa Cabernets and will age beautifully for the next 15 years. (2010) This wine is very dark in color with intense aromas of blackberry, cassis, graphite, vanilla and cedar. The palate shows intense notes of boysenberry, plum, blueberry, camphor, smoke, coffee, cedar, and Asian spices. The wine is wound tightly and should be decanted in its youth. With proper cellaring, it will evolve for 10 to 15 years.
