Organic. 60% Colombard, 40% Chardonnay. Colombard drawn from the Ricetti Vineyard in the Redwood Valley; Chardonnay from the Siletto Vineyard in San Benito County; both vineyards are farmed organically and dry-farmed. Colombard harvested in October, rather late given that 23 was a very cool and slow growing seasonlow ripeness, high acidity. Direct pressed, fermented in stainless steel, rested in a combination of steel and one concrete egg for six months. Chardonnay harvested in late Sept, added to give some dimension and weight; direct pressed, fermented in stainless, rested in neutral oak barrels for six months. Both wines racked and blended in March of 24. Unfined, unfiltered, 30ppm SO2 added. Rosalind adds, Amando el Sol means loving the sun, an ode to bright golden Colombard fruit that ripens happily in the California heat.
