Proclamation Irish Whiskey 750

Irish whiskey has a reputation for being innocuous, and Proclamation wont overwhelmingly change any of those perceptions. Sweet and nutty, with a sort of oatmeal character on the nose, its got an initial pungency that feels slightly more aggressive than the typical Irish, with hints of dried pineapple adding nuance. The palate retreats to traditional elements, with notes of sesame, sweet cereal, and toasted bread dominant. A touch of toasted coconut and a slight winey element can be detected, the latter perhaps driven by the touch of sherry in the mix. Drying and rather green on the finish, the short conclusion leaves a bit to be desired, though its never unpleasant or off-putting.
